CAMPING WORLD (GANDER) REPAIR SCAM!

RV Roof

I bought a used 2018 Coleman Lantern in July 2023 from the Camping World in Anderson, California. Within a month, the roof began to delaminate.

At first, the service team told me it needed a full replacement. Then they patched it, after my insurance denied coverage. Camping World Service assured me that no further damage existed.

Fast forward, 16 months later, extensive dry rot was discovered in the rear roof structure. They are refusing to repair it, saying it’s outside of their 12-month warranty.

An independent expert has confirmed that all seals were intact and dry rot occurred before the 2023 patch.

CAMPING WORLD EXTENDED WARRANTY SCAM!

In addition, I was pressured into purchasing nearly $4,000 in warranties. I have since found that the warranty is extremely limited and excludes these defects.

Finally a Whistleblower!

Whistle Clip Art CAMPING WORLD (GANDER) EXPOSED!

Evidence Surfaces Against Camping World

Whistleblower evidence has surfaced against Camping World. New regulatory filings allege widespread fraud, wage suppression, and consumer deception at Camping World. The evidence includes internal documentation and transaction records that expose how backend costs were inflated — harming both employees and customers.

These are NOT billing ErrorsBundle of Cash Clipart

These practices are part of a deliberate structure.

Camping World billed $1,895.42 for an LED light repair.
Worst-case actual cost: $100 (30-min task, <$40 part).

Camping World billed $2,487.76 to replace a 50-amp power cord plug.
Actual cost: $60.

Camping World charged $1,606.15 to top off two fuel tanks.
Actual cost: $225.

Camping World charged $1,261.50 for a basic generator ‘test’.
Actual cost: $85.

Effective labor billed at $533/hour.
Actual real-world labor averages: $95–$125/hour.

Over $7,200 in ‘repacking’ and fake service fees across five RV units.
Actual value: under $500.

CW STAFF LOST THOUSANDS!

Camping World salespeople lost thousands in unpaid commission. Customers paid thousands more in deceptive backend charges. Both groups were misled. The systems were designed that way.

West Hatfield, Massachusetts

CAMPING WORLD (GANDER) STRIKES AGAIN!

The Camping World Nightmare Begins

We bought a camper from Camping World in West Hatfield, Massachusetts on March 29, 2025. We first saw it advertised online and went to the dealership.

We had our first walk-through with a service tech and he said he would fix anything that needed to be done. What a joke?
Red Flag #1
When I asked the salesman to see the unit he said, “How did you know about the camper? We only took it in 3 days ago.”
The salesman was very nice initially, showed us the unit, and answered our questions. It needed a few things but nothing that bad…or so we thought. We decided to buy.

Red Flag #2
Hatfield Camping World agreed to give us $11,000 for our trade. When we finished all the paperwork we owed more for the camper than the original asking price.

Picking Up Our Trash CW Camper

We came to get the camper a week later and the experience went down hill quickly. On our second walk-through we noticed issues had not been repaired. Nothing they’d agreed to had been taken care of.
We complained, waited, and a service tech came. They told us we could wait in the salesroom while he “supposedly” fixed the problems. We went inside. They brought the camper out to their hookup area. They hooked up our camper and told my husband that we needed to lower our hitch for it to ride correctly.

Took Our Camping World Trash Camping

We loaded all our stuff into new camper over the first week. Then we headed out for our first trip.
Upon reaching our campground we attempted to hook up our water. We were surprised to find out the anode rod was missing from the water heater. We spent over two hours running around town to find the correct anode rod.
Next we tried to open the first slide. The cables were so bad that the slide jumped and froze in place.
The next day, we hooked up the washer/dryer unit. The lines were leaking and flooded the bathroom floor. We spent the next day at Home Depot. The washer required shut off valves to prevent the water from pouring on the floor. Three more wasted hours and gas costs to fix issues on a camper that was suppose to be ready to camp.

Multiple Issues Camping World Did Not Fix

  • The ice maker had water line problems.
  • Shelving falling off walls.
  • Shades that don’t work.
  • Flooring that lifts when heat is on.
  • Tires were egg-shaped and needed replacing.
  • And ALL KINDS of other issues.
We contacted Camping World, Hatfield, M to get these issues fixed. Their response was pretty much, “You bought it, its your problem. Pay for it.”

No Registration Provided by Camping World

Red Flag #3
Once we got home we contacted Camping World again because our registration had not arrived. Currently, the plates are on the trailer without registration. A run around ensued. Nobody could tell us where the registration was. Consequently, I contacted corporate. They did nothing but refer me back to Hatfield Camping World.
We called Hatield again and the General Manager said he would look into it. Later the Hatfield GM called back upset with us for contacting coporate about everything going on. He asked me not put in official complaint, they would fix the issues.
The GM told us that they did not know where the title was for the unit because it was a consignment. We were never told about this. He said he would let us know when he found out anything.
Needless to say, they still refused to do anything about our other issues.
After many calls from us, the GM said he found the title and it would be registered in a few days. But, it took weeks.
We got a call on May 7th saying the camper was registered. As of today June 25, 2025 we still have not received the original registration. It has been 87 days.

Back to Hatfield, Massachusetts Camping World

We returned to CW to have an awning put on and found out the service tech and service manager knew all about the issues. They just wanted the unit gone. We happened to come along and they sold it, “AS IS.” Unfortunately, they covered up (hid) all the problems.

The Hatfield, Massachusetts CW Experience

So far:
We had to buy four new tires.
We’ve spent hours of fixing slides.
More time and money wasted fixing water lines.
Every day we find new problems.

The CW Extended Warranty Scam

The extended warranty isn’t worth the paper its printed on. It has covered nothing!!!!
We are in the process of cancelling the warranty, but Camping World refuses to respond to the warranty company. It’s been more than 60 days since our request to cancel.

Sign the Papers, Camping World Checks Out

CW loves you and you’re treated like a king until you sign the papers. Then, you’re nothing but a loser.
We will never purchase from any Camping World again. They lie, cheat and steal.
Mark Lemonis is a liar, too. He does nothing but refer you back to the scamming Camping World you purchased from and you’ll get no help. His empty motto, “I’m not happy if your not happy,” is a con job and he knows it.
We are determined to warn everyone we know or talk with. We thought buying a camper or RV was supposed to be a good experience. NOT FROM ANY CAMPING WORLD!
