Camping World Sucks!

Our opinion is that Camping World sucks. Many seem to share that opinion. Reviewers rarely praise the company. Ergo, CampingWorldSucks.net was born.

This is not a fancy website. The goal here is not to sell products or ads. The purpose of this site is to warn consumers. Also, hopefully, the company will get a clue and change.

I’ve read many reviews and found very few positive experiences if any. RV enthusiasts new to the company need to be warned. Those with experience probably need to vent. This is a place to share the Camping World consumer experience.

After dealing with Camping World personally, we came to the conclusion that Camping World sucks. Our own experiences prompted this blog. Subsequently, our story fills the first few posts.

  • First is our sales experience in Monticello, Minnesota.
  • Second, our refund experience with Meridian, Idaho.
  • Third, our warranty inspection fiasco in Bartow, Florida.
  • I’ve also included one experience of a friend.

Location doesn’t seem to matter. Integrity and honesty are obviously not the company standard.

THE REASON FOR THIS BLOG

The BBB

I’ve read consumer reports, including many Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaints. The BBB website gives them a one-star rating. What the BBB deems a response is a joke. For instance, Camping World repeatedly responds that they reached out to the customer (they tried) without response. That seems to be their scripted reply.

After this lame response, the BBB marks the complaint as answered. Furthermore, when the company takes any action, the BBB reports the complaint resolved.

Consequently, complaint after complaint is marked resolved. However, additional customer responses show the issues as unresolved.

The BBB rates Camping World with one star and no letter grade.

Additionally, the BBB fails to rate the company with a letter grade. Find out for yourself. Do your own research on the BBB website. In addition to the BBB, check out PissedConsumer.com. They give Camping World two stars.

An Attempt for Change

Certainly, this may be a useless effort in regards to real change in business practices. In the end, future RV consumers will be warned.

These posts are organized into two categories: “Sales” and “Repairs.” We’ll add a category if necessary. Share your Camping World experiences here.

Also, on another blog, I’ve posted our warranty repair experience with Keystone RV. Same issue, lack of integrity. It is our my opinion that Keystone and Camping World are in bed together. We experienced a team effort to rip us off.

  1. I was completely mistreated, lied to, purposefully delayed, my RV was held hostage for 20+ days while I was forced into a hotel. Then they tried to use my RV to force me to sign paperwork. Later when all that didn’t work – they called two police departments (Bernalillo County Sheriffs in New Mexico and then the New Mexico State Police) trying to get them to force me to sign the paperwork or get arrested. Fat chance but I would rather be arrested. #CrampingWhirl is run by a bunch of con artists that whine like babies when called out on it.

    1. Yet, with all of the bad publicity out there on Camping Whirl, people keep right on buying from them!!!

    1. Why I wouldn’t advise buying a Freedom Elite from Camping World:

This is regarding the customer service from Camping World and Thor’s unwillingness to stand behind their product.

we purchased a Freedom Elite 26HE motor coach new in January of 2017 from Camping World in Saukville Wisconsin. We are extremely dissatisfied with the customer service from Camping World.

Our first concerns came to light when we purchased the motor home. We had looked at the coach at the RV show in Milwaukee February of 2017. We liked the layout of the 26HE and decided to purchase one. We noticed several deficiencies with the display model and were assured that we would get a new one that was identical from Saukville. The display model was from the Madison Camping World. When we arrived at Saukville Camping World and finished all the paperwork, we discovered the RV we were being sold was the same display model with a Saukville Camping World sticker over the Madison sticker. Red flag number one.

We pointed out all the deficiencies we noticed at the RV show and were assured all the issues would be fixed. One of the issues was a seal that was on the overhead cap. Red flag number 2.

We had the RV serviced at Camping World Saukville off and on from February 2017 to July 2017 with warranty issues. One issue was with an electrical relay that almost started the RV on fire. Another issue was a screw that during the manufacturing process had been driven through the fiberglass portion if the roof near the roof access ladder. Although this issue was fixed, it was also apparently made to look worse than it was by a technician at Camping World who drew pencil marks around the screw in the shape of spider cracks. I can only think that this was done to exaggerate the damage to get the manufacturer (Thor) to foot the bill? Red flag number 3.

The employee who attempted to fix the seal on the overhead cap dripped sealant and caulking all over the front hood. I spent a couple of hours cleaning it up.

We used the RV during 2018 season without incident. During the 2019 season We noticed on the inside of the cap the right wall was delaminating due to a water leak. We also noticed water leaking from the cab roof over the passenger seat. The RV was taken to a local RV repair shop who initially couldn’t find a leak. I then removed the cushions from the overhead bed, and it was discovered that the wood was rotting, and mold had started. They suggested we take the RV back to the dealer (Camping World) and advise. We dropped the RV off on Dec 2nd, 2019 at Camping World, Saukville WI.

Since the RV has been dropped off, I had called Camping World at least 7 times and had stopped in once in person requesting updates. The service department had promised to call me back with updates on numerous occasions and had not done so. I called and left a message for the service manager to call me Friday, February 28th, 2020. After talking to Camping World Corporate and sending a letter regarding our concerns, I finally got a call back.

On March 11th I received a call from the service department stating they found the leak, that it was under the right-side screw track on the overhead cap. They stated the seal had failed and caused the damage estimated at $7,700. I initiated a claim with the extended Camping World Warranty we had purchased. The claim was denied because it did not cover leaks or leak damage.

I then called Thor and asked that they help cover the cost of repairs as I believed the motor home was not properly sealed from the factory, and the location the leak occurred was not one that could have been found through routine maintenance by the owner or service shops. Thor stated that the motor home was out of warranty, and that the manufacture warranty only covered seals for 3 months. I stated that a three-month warranty was not a warranty at all, and that apparently Thor must expect that their products are inherently defective.

On April 28th, 2020 I received a call from Camping World stating they had found damage to the fiberglass wall next to a window that had to be removed to fix the water damage. The estimate was approximately $900. I asked how the new damage occurred, since I did not see this damage prior to dropping off the vehicle. They could not explain how the damage had occurred.

It’s June 4th , 2020 as of this posting and we are still waiting on our RV. Half a year!

We have used our motorhome only 8 times since we purchased it, putting around 15,000 miles on it. We keep it covered during winter storage.

This is our second Thor RV from Camping World, and I have to say at this time we are not satisfied at all with Camping World, or Thor motor homes.

  2. I’m Tena Mullinax. I brought a Travel Trailer from Camping World in North Little Rock, AR. I didn’t like the dealership. I had never bought a RV, but I’m disabled, on a limited income and the was the only way I could afford to live without assistance. I made my purchase on October 16, 2019. Camping World had made eighteen repairs to my trailer before they sold it to me as new. I resolved my problem with CW, although I’m not through with them. I requested Forest River Inc., the company that assembled my trailer, to replace it.

I need help in creating a website that I can share the things I’ve learned over the past five months. I also need people to understand how this industry works. The final word doesn’t belong to just Camping World, the companies that are assembling the RV as manufacturers, are not! Those warranties by the assemblies cover very little of the RV you purchased. The materials come out of China. The cabinets, the walls, the doors, everything! They simply put it all together!

There are no laws to regulate the dealerships or the assemblies. So, they can do anything they want to, to each and everyone of us, unless we let them all know that, “This is no longer, ok!” We have to hit both. We can’t get one to do something the other isn’t willing to do! Did you know that Forest River has so many RVS under other assemblies names. They do. They’re owned by Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Yes, Warren Buffet!

CW owned Good Sam’s. That’s why they want you to purchase the service warranty. They turn around and get your agreement with a underwriter. They changed underwriters since November 2019. They were with a company that insured cellphones, dish washers and wide area of miscellaneous stuff but obviously didn’t specialize in RV’S!

Please tell me, “What can I do to give all of us a voice to change this injustice?” A website, a page on your page, something! I’m desperate.

    1. go on Facebook and go to CAMPING WORLD-THE AWFUL EXPERIENCE … send a message and tell them Tricia sent you and they approve you fast. Wait until you see the stories on there. We all need to get together and file a lawsuit.. hell MARCUS CAN AFFORD TO GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK. Gotta love the IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY I AM NOT HAPPY bullshit.. OH AND HOW HE IS AVAILABLE IF YOU NEED HIM. Funny, not once has he returned my calls and it is obvious he could care less. I said that slogan was not true and fraud… so now it is IF YOU ARE HAPPY I AM HAPPY.. well I am NOT HAPPY and again HE DOESN’T CARE. He was posting on Facebook so I made a comment THINKING IT WOULD BE NICE FOR HIM TO REPLY… oh he replied alright… HE DELETED MY COMMENTS…. karma karma karma and cannot use money KARMA COMES FREE…

  3. Where should I start? Okay, we lost Mom so Dad decided he wanted to buy an RV so he could get out of the house which is a reminder of Mom. Well don’t you know.. A GREAT DEAL FROM CAMPING WORLD… NOT!!!! It was in the shop within a week. Did not even get to camp in it and IT IS IN THE SHOP. They had it for months. We get it back and it is raining outside.. it is leaking water to the point we have to get a mop. If you drive an RV you know it isn’t always fun driving on the Interstate (you know the road where drivers were able to get a drivers license in a cereal box) lol All of a sudden a horrible noise and we are ducking for cover.. THE BED ABOVE THE DRIVERS SEAT/PASSANGER SEAT COLLAPSES!!!! Called Camping World and you could tell in their voice THEY DON’T CARE. Time for the RV to go camping again AT THE SHOP THAT IS!!!! Put it this way.. it had so many problems that it had to go back to them.. it wasn’t safe plus had water damage we didn’t see. How nice.. Camping World tells us we are driving a house with an earthquake under us. GET OVER IT AND THAT IS RV LIFE. (exact words) Well Dad has enough and not getting anywhere with them so he took a $30,000 loss!!!!! He decides to give another Camping World a try.. two hours away. Okay so this time he had it for a month BEFORE IT WAS CAMPING IN THEIR SHOP!!!! Not days go by.. try months. Yes 5 months to be exact. The generator would NOT work the first time we went to use it. CAMPING WORLD TELLS US IT IS OUR FAULT AND DUE TO OUR LACK OF MAINTENANCE. Gives us the story that we need to use it at least 2 hours each month and by the way you owe us $750!!! It was NOT covered under the warranty LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE IT SEEMS.. so why a warranty if nothing is covered? The first trip we take which requires a generator because we are dry camping.. it fires up but fires nothing up. We had to travel 2 hours out of our way to the closest Camping World. We live in Florida and we are in Texas when this happens. That one tells us bring it in and they believe it is the transfer switch. We had to wait 3 hours SITTING ON A CURB MIND YOU and it is finally ready. We are told that the technician that “fixed” the generator forgot to adjust some screw. So Dad being nice like he is hands the guy a $20 tip. THE GUY HANDS DAD A BILL FOR $162!!!!! Another item not covered under the warranty… what about it being their fault since we didn’t forget to adjust the screw nor did we forget to give them the $750!! or the $162!!! What is next we thought. We shut the door and hear this grinding noise.. wtf is that? THE STAIRS ARE NOT GOING IN that is what it is. My Father is 72 years old and can you believe he had to use a step stool to get in and out. Must be something with Interstates and above cabin beds since we were familiar with the sound and ducked since we were prepared for what was coming THE BED DOWN ONCE AGAIN.. BUT HELLO DIFFERENT RV!!! So have had it for a year now.. the RV is the one that goes camping TO THE SHOP which we didn’t know that was some type of campground or something. RV’s are purchased to go camping in… to get away and the only one getting away IS THE RV. Well I actually just picked it up again today after something they “fixed” had to be “fixed” again. Doesn’t the service counter have a sign that states OUR WORK IS WARRANTED FOR LIFE. NOT TRUE… they charged me and instead of arguing with them of course I had to pay or not getting it back. Gotta love when the invoice reads that the technician repaired the dinette that collapses GOD FORBID YOU SIT ON THE SEAT… so I would like to let everybody know the technician said it is fixed and safe. He actually seemed to have tested it himself according to the invoice HE JUMPED UP AND DOWN ON IT AND NOT A PROBLEM. Hello, I told them that is NOT TRUE because that technician would not be at work today HE WOULD BE OUT ON WORKERS COMP BELIEVE ME. So LONG STORY SHORT.. this is actually SHORT I PROMISE because I have left a lot out. CAMPING WORLD SUCKS IS PUTTING IT LIGHTLY. In fact, I made shirts to wear so when others read my shirt they will see CAMPING WORLD SCREWED ME.. HOW IT IS MONEY DOWN THE TOILET AND ON THE BACK I HAVE TWO PEOPLE KISSING… THE WORD “MY” AND A PICTURE OF A DONKEY finished with the words CAMPING WORLD!!!!!!!

  4. is it a Thor Windsport by chance?????? it sounds like the RV we had to turn in and took a big loss on it. OMG it was like you wrote my story for me about the first RV we bought.

  5. ALSO…. I failed to mention something important. The warranty that is supposed to come with the RV seems to never cover the problem. Then the additional $12,000 yes that number is accurate for an EXTENDED WARRANTY is just like the original warranty… THE ONLY THING IT COVERS IS THE PAPER IT IS WRITTEN ON. Notice too when you are in need of a SERVICE PROVIDER FOR THE WARRANTY IT ONLY HAS CAMPING WORLD as locations that will service the RV and I don’t know about anybody else but not even one is available other than them.

  6. Buyer BEWARE
Marcus Lemonis motto is a joke!
***Adding to our prior issue froMy husband and I purchased a new 2020 Forest River Wild Cat 290RL Monday July 13th in Lubbock, Texas.
We set our first trip for Friday July 17th and traveled to Weatherford. When we got setup we turned on the AC and began getting everything set for our stay.
    1. We noticed a big ripple/bubble in the flooring in the kitchen that travels up the stairs, in the hallway and bathroom.
    2. The crown molding falling down in the kitchen
    3. Leak in bathroom under the sink.
    4. Outside shower no shower head.
    5. Hot Water heater not working
    6. Now at the RV park over 2 hours AC is still NOT cooling. So we lowered the thermostat down. For our entire stay the RV never cooled down past 83 degrees, which was miserable!
We headed back on Monday July 20th and dropped it off for Camping World to look at and fix what should have been done BEFORE we took it.
For a week we heard nothing back and left multiple messages. Finally on Tuesday July 28th I get a call from the technician. He stated that the unit we purchased requires not ONE but TWO AC’s! I asked them why would you not tell us this before we purchased it? We are not RV experts and only assume that a $64,000 unit would come with everything it needs.
Now we find out that it will cost US almost $2000.00 for a second unit AND the unit it came with was not working correctly and needs to be replaced 🤬!
This is a BRAND NEW 5th wheel that we were going to begin travel with. And not to mention the AC on it has to be warranted because it did not work.
Wednesday August 5th having ENOUGH of no one answering the phone OR returning a phone call, I head up to talk to “Eric” in service.
Upon arriving he is helping someone with their RV problems and the man hands him what looks to be some kind of washer to fix a leak and he is told they will have to order that part🤦🏼‍♀️! He then says they are 2 weeks behind!
He comes to help me and reports to me that the black water tank is not in yet. I look at him confused because that is not one of the 6 things wrong with our brand new 2020 unit. So he looks in his drawer and pulls out our work order and finds us. He then tells me that they have “ordered” parts on the 30th! Wait, what? You have had this since the 20th and 10 days later you order parts? Ok what about all the other things that you could have been fixing in these 10 days, are they fixed?
Nope have not even started on them🤬🤬!
So the parts are slated to be in HOPEFULLY August 17th.
This brand new unit in our possession 5 days has set in their shop almost a month?
We have had to cancel our trip and our next trip looks to be the same. We have not even made our first payment on this.
UPDATE: got a call August 14th from the GM Jeff Watts and he is okaying the pulling of a new unit to put on ours and we should have it ready by Wednesday August 19th! They will have us bring the unit back in after season to lay the new flooring as they said you do not lay the flooring during the winter🤦🏼‍♀️ and they will fix the hot water heater at that time as well.
So of course I did not get a call Wednesday and today is August 22nd still nothing. 🤬
We do not think this is fair at all and extremely disappointed.
Marcus Lemonis CEO of Camping World states, “If you are not happy, I am not happy” so we contacted his corporate office. In reality I know Marcus will never see this but I do know that if you have a problem go directly to the source, which I did. Then if you have no results go higher which I did, now will inform others🤬
Got it back September in time for 1 trip🤬🤬🤬
***Second trip with this brand new unit was Easter Weekend 2021 was yet another cluster of
    Broken things 🤦🏼‍♀️💩💩
Switch to retract and extend unit
    Water leak
    Flooded Kitchen and carpet
    Hot Water Heater
    Water Pump
    Cabling throughout
    Kitchen faucet
Leak around seal in kitchen faucet
Check under penning due to the leaks
Slide with the chairs leans downward
    Check all the slider seals
Doors on Propane holder left side is off
Now they are saying it was not winterized correctly, well we did exactly what we were told by your people because they are still months behind!
Dropped of April 5th and today April 15th they say it is incorrect Winterizing! Once again we “winterized” according to their service department because they are 8 weeks behind🤬
They have been 8 weeks behind for 4 years, check their customer reviews!!!
Then they say they will trade us out of this unit. Thinking they will move us into another unit of equal value. Nope!! They are giving us only 40,000 trade in on this unit🤬🤬🤬
So we consider moving up to a Montana and they make us think we are getting a great deal. Selling it to us for 73,000 and only giving us 40,000 for the unit. Then I discovered that the same Montana is selling all over the USA for 62,000 once again screwing us over.

  7. Camping world sucks. The warranty is a total scam. Way overpriced and they make it impossible to use it. A class action needs to be filed against this shitty greedy bunch of sons of bitches

  8. Hello, I am a current employee of camping world and I would just like to state that some of you have unrealistic expectations when it comes to your campers, its essentially a house, it requires maintenance and the fact that it gets put through an earthquake every time you take it out is a big reason why. When it comes to your camper being brought in there is going to be a wait time, since covid began everyone has been buying campers or getting them worked on thus creating a lot of work for the techs who have to wait on parts from companies who are either being over worked or are short staffed because of covid, be patient your camper will be worked on just realize that there are other people ahead of you as well.

    1. So, what you are saying is my TRAVEL trailer was not meant to be pulled down the road!!!! Man! You sound like you are in management at CamperWhirl!! Just more excuses for their incompetents and why they can’t get it right!! I don’t know why anyone still buys from them!

    2. Camping World had these issues before Covid. We bought ours in 2015 and it was constant repair that first year even though it was used little. Most of the issues were factory defects and never fixed by Camping world, I ended up fixing myself because I got tired of dealing with them. A real slap in the face after spending 80+ thousand dollars!

    1. Too bad lemons laws only apply to motorized vehicles – any tv that needs to be hauled isn’t covered by them.

  9. We could not agree more…Camping World sux.
We purchased a satellite from Camping World in Ft Myers Fl in July of 2021, and
among other things for our “New to Us ” fifth wheel, including purchasing the Good Sam warranty
    insurance for over $5000 totally.
We couldn’t get the satellite to lock on, and called for a service appt. We attempted to bring
the RV in for service but were unable to operate the automatic leveling jacks. So, we were told that
the service call could be at our location. Not promptly I might add, we met with a service tech who
had to order parts for the jacks. However, he was not able to do anything about the satellite because
he was not familiar or qualified to work on satellites. Next tech couldn’t find the problem, supposedly
someone else could, but by this time the satellite was stuck in a position that collected and filled up with water. Still waiting for the jacks part, but the next guy took the satellite in to the service dept.
After continued phone conversations with service advisor, we decided to settle on the dome like satellite to avoid this problem should we be traveling…and that was ordered.
6 months we waited for the ordered parts. A destination service call was set up and we set out to meet them where our RV is parked.
Phone call from the service advisor – she had to collect the $500 deductable before they would proceed. We explained that there was at least a $1500 difference between the satellites in our favor, and after the work was completed we would settle up, if everything was working like it was supposed to. I mean we were expecting this service to be completed correctly for all these months, and wanted to experience the success of our problems going on 7 months later. Our confidence in Camping World at this point was not very good.
The service call was cancelled and its 2 weeks later and we were just told that we were not getting reimbursed for the difference of the satellites, and we must pay them $500 deductible before they will do the work. So, Camping World has our satellite that we paid for, has the parts that we’ve waited over 6 months for and refuses to do anything until we pay $500 deductible up front.
How many commercials have we seen where Marcus Lemonis says if you’re not happy…I’m not happy.
I’ve been told that I cannot contact Mr Lemonis because he doesn’t take calls from customers.
We have been a customer of Camping World for over 30 years, and we have spent a boatload of money with this company.
Marcus Lemonis… we are not happy.

  10. I’m not going to leave a long, cathartic account of my experience. I would certainly buy from someone else next time. The sales force is weak in terms of understanding the product and lifestyle, and the service department is either overwhelmed or just… I don’t know.

  11. Camping World is the biggest rip of there is in RV Deals. We sold a Travel Trailer to the Camping World of Fayetteville. I worked over the Phone with this Guy from I guess there head quarters Named Glenn he started to to care about the deal and did what he could to make it work. He even got the asking price i was going to settle on. Now comes the problems. I told him that it was a 2020 but when i looked at the registration, i saw it was a 2021 so a year newer. I told him the mistake and he said he would get me a new quote. When he came back with the new quote it was for about 3000 less. I asked him why is it less for a newer model all he said is that that is what they came back with. I went with the deal anyway, but when we went to the store to get the appraisal the guy we dealt with there had no answers either all he could say is that is what Glenn sent him did not even try to help out with trying to get a new quote. So a week later after making several phones calls to find out what they would offer. I get a call back from Chuck the guy from the store I dealt with and he said it would cost them 890. 00 dollars to put a coating on the roof. I told him that the roof was fine since it was not even a year old yet. he did not move on the price. Well we took the deal and just yesterday April 3 2022 I see they posted the Rv on there site for 20,000 more then they offered us. It is above what we paid brand new. I just wanted everyone to know not to use any camping world they are a rip off and dont care about there costumers I guy they fell they can take advantage of someone’s miss fortune. I know from this day forward I will never use camping world and i will tell everyone i know not to use camping world

  12. Do not buy anything from camping world. I will follow up with my story when I have a minute. I was lied to and cheated Customer service seems like they are 12 year olds. I don’t see how a public traded company can get away with all the stuff that they do.

  13. In the 2 weeks leading up to going to Baxter MN I was dealing with I believe assistant general manager Geo and he told me for sure that my trade in would be 62000.00 on the 5th wheel that was on their web site for 55995.00. I talked to him several times before going because it is 200 miles from me. I called him on Friday 2/12/2021 to set up a time to be there to meet with him. When we got there, he just left for Florida so we dealt with Samantha Risnes. We told her which 5th wheel trailer we wanted and about an hour later she came out with the paper Geo had wrote all the numbers down and told us that the rave number they go by did not exist. I told her it was on their web page and it was in there show room. She said that it was the same one but different numbers. Then she said they could not give me what was agreed on for my trade in, she said 55500.00 was the best they could do. My wife and I were not happy after all the calls and then they do this to us. We decided to go ahead and purchased the new 5th wheel camper on 2/13/2021. When I got home and realized there was a lot of extra stuff added on that I did not want. I called the next day which was the 14th Sunday ant told Samantha risnes F&I manager we wanted to cancel all the extra protections {Vehicle Service Contract, Gap, Paint Protection, Tire & wheel protection, Roadside Assistance, Emergency Alert and travel assistance} I was told when I called that they already did the paint protection which I find very hard to believe because the camper was in the show room and we left at 6 pm and I called at 11 am Sunday. Every time I called I would get the same answer on the stuff that it has all been taken care off this was from the general manager and Samantha Risnes. They told me I could not cancel the Emergency Alert. I told them that they did not explain any of these extra things to us and also I was supposed to get a paper to fill out our emergency contacts. We got nothing. After several weeks I called corporate and so far I have received money back on the vehicle service contract and the gap. I received everything but 75.00 dollars. I mentioned that but no response. The general Manager I was trying to deal with got fired and now I had to deal with someone new. He told me last week that I could cancel everything but I would get no money back. I told him that I had 30 days to cancel the stuff which I did the very next day. That is when I started all this trying to get my money back the 14th of February not only that they delivered the camper and in the process they damaged things and had to take it back to fix the damaged things. They then delivered it again and the things they were supposed to fix they did not. They bent one of the pins in the front leg, only got one set of keys, missing microwave plate and damaged stencil on right front side. I finally received everything but the keys. After ab out 3 months I received 1 key and microwave plate. It was the wrong plate so they said they had to order it. I finally got it july8 with the pin but no more keys. I have called at least twice a week and I keep getting a run around or they will leave a message and someone will get back to me which they never do. When you spend over 60 thousand dollars on a camper you would think that they would take better care of their customers but I guess not. The other thing also was the camper had a sign on it for 55995.00 and when I got home I see they charged me 56995.00. I have the sign from the camper and I brought it up and all I was told they would not give me the 1000.00 difference. I also mentioned on my paperwork that is says the camper base price was 68784.00 and they gave me 67500.00 for my camper which they only gave me 55500.00 for mine and the price of the camper was 55995.00 so I am not sure what they’re doing but all my paper work does not reflect the right numbers. On 4-26-2022 I took my camper to Camping World in Duluth and they changed out the couch and TV. They are excellent in Duluth but the store in Baxter I would never purchase from them again.

  14. Glad I read this I was getting called by the salesman weekly almost bought a 29 ft Coleman travel trailer from camping ⛺️ world NOW THAT WE HAVE THE FACTS FROM OTHER CUSTOMERS !!! 16. As a former manager at Camping World, every story here is true. CW is a ruthless place that eats their own young. They thrive on the chaos of poor customer service and pissing people off. They know people will still come into their dealerships no matter what they do or how they act.

They treat their employees the same way. Lie, cheat and steal is their real motto.

Avoid them at all costs as there are plenty of nice legitimate mom and pop places out there that value their customers and employees.

  17. And Marcus was going to make such a big change for the better when he took over Camping World!! Don’t sound like it to me! Most companies have some customers that complain about frivolous things but everyone who buys from Camping Whirl complain about major issues!!!
My suggestion if you do buy your camper from them is to buy a warranty from outside of the company and have an independant service repair shop work on it! There is a good one just south of Lake Wales Florida on highway 27 about 3 to 6 miles south.

  18. Try overwhelming marcusvip@goodsam.com. That is the e-mail for camping world corporate office. They don’t care either, believe me i tried and got the runaround of we will contact the camping world dealer you are having a problem with to have them contact you. I was told this a couple of times by them and 3 weeks and i am still waiting for that call. I got so frustrated with them that i just gave up. Of course that is their main goal, get you to give up and they don’t hear from you again. Problem solved in their minds. They all missed their calling in life. They should all change their profession to politician.

  19. I purchased 2017 toy hauler in June of 2021. CW cleaned it up to look nice. They were asked to check it over thoroughly before delivery. You would think that they would disclose any previous problems. They did not. I am a senior citizen but they didn’t care. Take the money and run! After four short trips, the roof started to fall in. Their answer was” IT’S YOUR TRAILER NOW!” My insurance company did a background check and found that this trailer had previous extensive damage and therefore refused to pay for any damage. Camping world said TO BAD! Wrote several letters to Markus Lemonus and NEVER received a reply. Finally my insurance company put it in writing that this unit had previous damage and refused to pay for it. The bank refused to get involved, and the Missouri Attorney General, Eric Schmitt refused to get involved, so the only thing that saved me was the letter from my insurance company. After eight months of arguing with CW, they finally said they would repair the trailer at their cost. Four months and several letters later to mr. Lemonus, all unanswered, I got my trailer back. Value on trailer went way down as the decals could not be retrieved anywhere. To start with, this trailer never should have been resold and second, the work to put this unit back to original condition was SHODDY at best. Lemonus doesn’t care who he cheats. Just make the sale. He doesn’t care about who he is selling to or how they make their payments, just make the sale! CW has a bad reputation and you would think they would be trying to fix it but no, apparently they do care because misinformed people keep buying from them. I personally will NEVER buy ANYTHING from them again. If I needed a box of matches I would not get them there. Spread the word!!! Camping world sucks. Mr. Lemonus is not a man of his word and he refuses to talk to the people who buys his product. Karma awaits!!

  20. My name is Stick Bogart I am an expert witness in the RV industry. Years ago I owned an RV repair business and I seen some of the crap that really comes out of the dealerships. So what I’ve decided to do is work with lawyers who have lawsuits against RV dealerships. Think about this for a second one liquid gallon of propane in the propane tank of your RV will expand to 270 gallons of explosive vapor if there’s a leak in the system. 30 gallons of liquid propane in the tank will expand to 8100 gallons of explosive vapor if there’s a leak in the system.

Dealership refused to do a complete predelivery inspections of the motorhomes they plan to sell to the public they also refused to do LP gas system checks to make sure there’s no propane leaks in the system and nor do they want to check the appliances that burn the propane to make sure they are operating properly

I went up against an RV dealer that’s very big in the west half of the country and I prove that they were bringing fraudulent documents to court as evidence to try to win the case against them they also had forged signatures on the documents that were fabricated trying to make the judge believe that they were on the good side of the fence it did not take long for me to convince the judge that the documents were fraudulent with forged signatures

I’m sick and tired of RV dealers taking advantage of the consumers they refuse to pay their technicians to do the safety checks and predelivery inspection because that eats into their profit. Do a little research about Senator Mike Monroney who passed a law back in 1958 regarding the MSRP‘s of new cars that law does not apply to RVs. So when you go to one of those RV show in SALES get ready to bend over the prices that are on the RVs while they’re on the show and sell how much higher than what they are at the dealerships

And trust me they do not bring week sales people to these RV show in sales they bring the sharks that have the ability to rip your head off financially and take huge advantages of the consumers. If you have a lawsuit against an RV dealership and the lawyer needs any assistance make sure they look for Stick Bogart.

I learned the expansion rate of propane when it comes out of the tank as a liquid it goes into vapor and that’s what can blow your RV to pieces in a matter of a few seconds if there’s a small propane leak that’s been leaking for a good while it takes just a simple spark and your coach is toast.
